I was doing my 1950s housewife workout the other day and noticed dust where I never thought of dust accumulating, under the very edge of the dresser. Just goes to show shifting angles makes a huge difference. I immediately dusted this area, but it made me think of other areas that might need dusting. I recently started sweeping the floor daily and next I would like to add daily dusting, like a true 1950s housewife. Some places to dust I wouldn’t have thought of:
Baseboards
The actual objects you’re moving to dust
The ac units
The fans (think about the dust that can start floating around!)
The top of the refrigerator
The top of the microwave if it’s above the stoves it’s a gap
Lighting fixtures
Baseboard heaters
Under the bottom edge of furniture
Definitely dusting tomorrow. Today I spot mopped the floor because I hate mopping and thought this would be a good way to get actual stains before mopping the whole floor tomorrow. I actually found dried gum stuck in the grout and had to pry it out with a knife (neither of us chew gum so no idea).
Later this week I will share a vintage haul I gained over the weekend on my trip to the land of antique stores on every corner.
